Anastasia Steele may be Christian Grey’s main squeeze in Fifty Shades of Grey, but you’ll be seeing another important woman in his life when the film hits theaters today: Dr. Grace Trevelyan Grey, Christian’s adoptive mom portrayed by Marcia Gay Harden.
So, what was it like to work with her on-screen son, Jamie Dornan? According to Harden, it was every bit the dream job you’d imagine.“Jamie is a great guy,” the actress told InStyle at Wednesday night’s amfAR New York Gala presented by Harry Winston. “And, as we all know, he’s beautiful.” Although her character—who raised Christian following the death of his biological mother—is far from risqué by Fifty Shades standards, Harden decided to spice things up on her own when it came to the script. “I made some fun tweaks and just had a good time with it,” she revealed. “After all, the mom doesn’t get to have much fun in the story—she’s not in that red room!”
