Looks like Malin Akerman is bending it like Beckham in the hair department. Last month, the actress surprised us at an Emmys after-party by taking the carpet in a super-short pixie cut. Though many will use short crop icons like Twiggy, Anne Hathaway, or Halle Berry as references before making such a dramatic update, Akerman had a slightly different muse in mind.
“It’s a bit David Beckham!” she told us at the launch of Parker on Spring event in Beverly Hills. “I’ve been wanting a really drastic change—I’ve always loved shaved heads. Obviously, that’s a bit drastic, but I had nothing in my near future work-wise, so I just thought, I’m going to do what I want to do.”Now that she mentions it, the two styles are pretty similar. Both cuts feature shaved sides and long, pushed-back bangs, but unlike the soccer star, Akerman’s new cut has prompted more soft wardrobe selections than sporty. “I dress more feminine now. I still like a nice edge to my clothing,” she added. “Long blond hair with a too-feminine outfit, I just didn’t feel edgy enough, so this is fun to play with.”
