There are few accessories that evoke the feeling of Old Hollywood glamour quite like jewelry, and few designers that do the accessories as well as Cartier. The storied brand, which has been churning out inimitable necklaces, bracelets, earrings, watches, and the like since its founding in 1847 in Paris, is synonymous with luxury.
And now, to celebrate its gems from the last 100 years, Cartier has released a new book, Cartier in the 20th Century.PHOTOS: Incredible Emmys Jewelry Through the Years
The book features 300 black-and-white and color illustrations of not only Cartier’s jewelry, but also smoking accessories, tiaras, and clocks; some have been worn by Hollywood movie stars such as Elizabeth Taylor and others given as gifts by maharajas. But Cartier in the 20th Century isn’t the only exciting new endeavor the brand is undertaking this fall. The book was published in conjunction with the Denver Museum of Art, which is hosting an exhibition, “Brilliant: Cartier in the 20th Century,” from Nov. 16 until March 15, 2015, that will showcase many of the items from the book.
