It’s not the Kids’ Choice Awards without some fun family moments. Angelina Jolie made her first public appearance since her headline-making op-ed in the New York Times, which documented her decision to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes, alongside her children, ten-year-old Zahara and eight-year-old Shiloh.

Jolie was nominated for two awards, Favorite TV Actress and Favorite Villain for her work in Maleficent. While she didn’t take home a win for Favorite TV Actress, she did nab a blimp award for her villainous Disney character, and she gave quite the inspirational acceptance speech.
“I want to say when I was little, like Maleficent, I was told that I was different and I felt out of place, and too loud, too full of fire, never good at sitting still, never good at fitting in, and then one day I realized something, something I hope you all realize, different is good,” she said. “So, don’t fit in, don’t sit still, don’t ever try to be less than what you are, and when someone tells you that you are different, smile and hold your head up high and be proud. And as your villain I would also say, cause a little trouble, it’s good for you.”
