Kim Kardashian Explains Why She Ended Up Doing a Photo Shoot at Waffle House

Last weekend, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Chrissy Teigen, and John Legend pre-gamed Super Bowl XLIX with a dinner date at Waffle House, and documented the experience on Instagram for our viewing pleasure.

But just how did the famous four end up on the best double date ever? Kardashian explained all on the red carpet at tonight’s 2015 Grammy Awards: “We were out at this Direct TV party before the Super Bowl where Kanye gave this incredible surprise performance,” she said.

“Afterwards we were riding around looking for all the best waffle places and found a Waffle House. We just had to do a photo shoot at the Waffle House!”

Kim—who arrived with her Balmain-clad husband Kanye—looked incredible in a sexy and sparkling Jean Paul Gaultier gown, which was West-approved (“She’s beautiful,” he said). And speaking of the music star, Kanye was quick to state that although his face tells otherwise, he was actually very happy to be hanging at the Waffle House. “That’s my look, everyone knows it now,” he said. “Not smiling makes me smile.”
