Paris Fashion Week is coming to a close, and InStyle’s Fashion News Director Eric Wilson and Style Director Melissa Rubini are bringing us the latest installment of Back of the Cab as the runway shows wrap today. This time they provide their reactions to the Louis Vuitton spring/summer 2015 collection, which offered the fashion world its first view at the much anticipated Fondation Louis Vuitton, designed by Frank Gehry, in the Bois de Boulogne (which opens to the public on Oct.
27).“Nicolas Ghesquière loves science fiction, so it was no surprise to hear the strings from close encounters of the third kind as we took our seats,” says Wilson. “The other news here were some playful cartoon-like prints almost bourgeous in their subject matter of eyelash curlers and water bottles and also of course with this being Louis Vuitton there were some incredible new bags.”
Rubini shared her love for the designer as well. “I think Nicolas has a such a talent to show what now is supposed to be,” she says. “He goes back [in time] to get reference but breaks to the exact moment we are living.”
