While there are many reasons why we love Sarah Hyland, her ability to constantly make us laugh out loud may top the list. And she did just that when InStyle caught up with her on the red carpet at last night’s 21st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, where the actress dished about how she fueled up for the long ceremony and night ahead.

“Oh God, I had a lot for breakfast. I had iced coffee and a sausage, egg, and cheese on one of those muffin things from Starbucks. Plus, yogurt, berries, and granola. Also a box of crackers and some tzatziki sauce. And, I just had cold pizza,” Hyland told us. “I came prepared. To be honest, I’m pretty f—ing full. I filled myself up for the wine.”

But if the Modern Family star really was chowing down just minutes earlier, she certainly didn’t show it on the red carpet. Hyland, who stunned in a metallic beaded custom Vera Wang gown and dazzling Lorraine Schwartz jewels, had all eyes on her.
“This gown is just wonderful. Vera Wang is so wonderful to work with, and the dress is so beautiful and elegant,” Hyland shared. “It’s different because it’s sexy, but then it has the tulle outer lay which makes it a little sweeter. So it’s juxtaposition to itself, which I really like, because it’s very different and edgy, but classy at the same time.”
