Your trips to the beach are about to get an extra shot of Kate Spade’s signature playful sophistication. The brand announced the launch of its first ready-to-wear swimwear collection, which will be available this fall. The line is part of Kate Spade’s cruise 2015 collection and will debut at Miami Swim Fashion Week.
“Our debut swimwear collection is colorful, bold, playful, optimistic, sophisticated, and timeless,” Chief Creative Director Deborah Lloyd said in a statement. “It’s retro reimagined, classic with a twist, and pays homage to our heritage, whether with a classic black and white stripe, a graphic dot, or an artisanal print.”
For now, the bandeau top bikini featuring a giant bow (above), is the only piece we’re able to lay our eyes on. The 70-piece collection will feature 52 mix-and-match separates and 12 one-pieces, as well as a few coverups, all constructed in luxurious fabrics like Italian crepe and liquid lamé. True to the brand’s eye for detail, the retro-inspired swimsuits will include elements such as gold-plated bow zipper pulls, tongue-in-cheek idioms like, “swan dive or cannonball,” and hand-sewn beading. We can’t wait to see more! The line will range from $120 to $200 and be available in November on katespade.com.
