New Instagrammer Kate Hudson Sounds Off on Who She Follows

Ever since InStyle introduced Kate Hudson to the filtered world of Instagram, we’ve been anxiously awaiting her second post on the platform. (Not to brag or anything, but her first-ever ’gram was a behind-the-scenes shot at the cover shoot for our July 2014 issue.) But naysayers needn’t worry: The current one-photo wonder has assured us that she plans to launch another image into the ether very soon.

We caught up with the petite blonde at the Wish I Was Here premiere in New York City last night, and she let us know that she was planning on uploading a photo from that very event. “I was just in the car thinking about it!” she told InStyle.com. “I’m going to post one soon!”

As for Hudson’s current experience navigating the social media terrain, so far she’s a happy camper. She let us know that she follows “all of her girlfriends,” including but not limited to: Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Richie, and Jennifer Meyer, and, of course, her director and co-star, Zach Braff (above), who was able to crowdsource funding for his highly anticipated second film on Kickstarter. Much like his first feature, Garden State, Wish I Was Here details a man’s emotional reawakening and pursuit of a happier, carefree life. “I wanted to do something just as idiosyncratic and different,” Braff said. “I fought really hard for this, and I’m so blessed that my fans rallied around me so I could maintain my artistic integrity and make something I really wanted to put my name on.”

And Hudson, a long-time friend, was one of his chief supporters. “I feel like a proud sister!” she said. “Watching him from the inception: writing, putting it together, getting the money, getting it funded, how he got it funded, getting his cast that he wanted, and then watching him onset, and seeing the film—it was one of those things where you see all of the pieces and all of the spinning plates just come together. And it was pretty wonderful to watch.”

Catch Wish I Was Here when it hits select theaters on July 18, and bookmark @katehudson for potential future Instagrams.
