AFI Awards Names Top Films and TV Shows of 2014—Did Your Favorites Make the Cut?

Preparation for awards season is in high gear, and the American Film Institute is adding to the buzz. Today AFI announced their choices for the top 11 films and 10 outstanding television shows of 2014, and several of our favorites, like The Imitation Game starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley (pictured above), made the list.

The non-competitive AFI Awards acknowledge the collaborative nature of film and TV production, bringing the community’s creative teams together in a unique celebration of their work.

“We celebrate these films and television programs as more than just milestones in a year of excellence,” said Bob Gazzale, AFI president and CEO, in a statement. “This is part of our cultural heritage.”
