Gwyneth Paltrow has worked many covetable red carpet makeup looks in the past, but we’ve never seen her quite like this! In the star’s newest campaign for Max Factor cosmetics, Paltrow channels her inner Marilyn Monroe as a homage to Mr. Max Factor himself, the pro artist who kick-started the modern cosmetics industry, and actually coined the term “make-up” in its noun form.

Gwyneth’s Marilyn-inspired look is the final shot in the brand’s 100 Years of Glamour series, in which the actress mirrored beauty icons like Audrey Hepburn, Farrah Fawcett, Brigitte Bardot, and even Madonna. Paltrow usually opts to wear her strands sleek and center-parted, but her retro faux bob proves to be just as flattering, and she gave Ms. Monroe’s trademark look a modern-day twist by swapping her true red lipstick for a vibrant coral hue. Though Factor’s full range is only available abroad, we’ll definitely be using her ultra-glam look as makeup inspiration, not to mention the stellar way she mixed her prints in the behind-the-scenes shot below.
