It looks like some of 2015 Oscar nominated actresses had more than their nominations in common. Julianne Moore (above, left), who is up for Best Actress for her role in Still Alice, hit the carpet in a custom Chanel column, a look Moore thanked Karl Lagerfeld for on the red carpet. The creamy, shimmering gown was striped with bands of flowers with black accents.
Marion Cotillard (center), who is nominated for Best Actress for Two Days, One Night, arrived in a honey comb-esque gown by Dior Haute Couture with a modern black bustle at the back. Reese Witherspoon (right) stunned in a black-and-white Tom Ford column that hugged her body in all the right places. The off-the-shoulder neckline and belt added definition to the Wild actress’ svelte frame.

Patricia Arquette (above, left), who is nominated for her role in Boyhood, wore a figure-flattering Rosetta Getty column featuring a one-shoulder white bodice and fitted black skirt. Oscars red carpet vet and Best Supporting Actress nominee Meryl Streep (right) opted for a custom menswear-inspired Lanvin look. The Into the Woods star paired a slimming long black skirt, oversize blazer, and a slouchy white blouse—a combo the award-winning actress pulled off with ease. A glitzy belt and pair of earrings gave Streep’s look a dose of femininity.
What can we say…black-and-white is truly a fail-safe color combo.
