Last night’s Scandal saw the return of “Gladiator” Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington), white hat and all. We’ve missed this version of her! Although she still suffers from frequent flashbacks, she dives headfirst into a new case with Pope & Associates on behalf of Cyrus Beene. They’re in damage control mode as his former-prostitute fiancé, Michael, is caught in a cheating scandal.

In this episode, we see her slowly transform through her wardrobe choices. “We started her in dark navy pajamas, then moved to the black Armani suit, then on to lighter colors as the show progressed,” Scandal costume designer, Lyn Paolo, tells InStyle. “Now she’s doing her ‘Olivia Pope’ thing!” By the end of the episode, she’s even wearing a white jacket (Alexander McQueen)—the ultimate Gladiator look.
