Back of the Cab: Watch Our 1-Minute Review of Prada’s #MFW Runway Show

Milan Fashion Week is well underway, and InStyle’s Fashion News Director Eric Wilson, Fashion Director Cindy Weber Cleary, and Style Director Melissa Rubini are bringing us the latest installment of Back of the Cab in the midst of attending runway shows. This time they provide their reactions to the Prada spring/summer 2015 collection, which featured plenty of embellishments, a variety of textures, and a unique blend of colors.

“I loved it. It was very her in the mix of fabrics and the mash-up of unusual colors,” Weber Cleary says of the collection, referencing Miuccia Prada, the line’s designer. “It had almost a homemade feel that was really interesting.”

“I think bringing the ’70s intellectual girl back is something that Mrs. Prada really loves and she did it marvelously,” Rubini adds.

Not only were the clothes a hit, but so was the elaborate scene. “The set was very intriguing. It was lavender, enormous dunes. Tons of sand, which set up a certain expectation, but then the show really was a departure from that,” says Weber Cleary. “At the end, I sort of thought it had an end-of-the-world feeling—the scraps of civilization.”
