When Sharon Stone makes her red carpet entrance, you can’t help but stare–at least that was the case at last night’s Friar’s Foundation Gala, a star-studded event honoring film legend Robert De Niro and philanthropist Carlos Slim. The actress, who co-starred with the Oscar winner in Casino (referring to him as “the most extraordinarily professional I’ve ever worked with”), was decked out in a sheer Lanvin shirt and Dior tuxedo.
So, what’s the key to her confidence and fearless style? “Don’t wear things you’re uncomfortable wearing,” she tells InStyle, “because you won’t look like you’ll know what you’re doing.”And if you’re dying to know the secret to the 56-year-old actress’s youthful glow, well, don’t rush out and buy that miracle cream just yet. “I have good genes [laughs],” she says. Jealous.
Last night’s event, held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City, presented De Niro with the Entertainment Icon Award, the organization’s highest honor. Other attendees included Aretha Franklin, Tony Bennett, and Orlando Bloom.
