Marion Cotillard Designs a Line of Ethically Sourced Jewelry for Chopard

It’s no secret that Marion Cotillard is a fan of Chopard—she wears pieces by the luxe label, almost as often as she dons dresses by Christian Dior, which she does for practically every red carpet she walks. And now the star is taking her love of the brand to the next level by designing its first line of jewels using ethically sourced colored gemstones.

“You design while thinking of the people who work on extracting the stones, so it’s a totally different energy,” Cotillard told WWD. “Why should the creation of dreams and luxury turn into a nightmare for the people who are providing the raw material?”

The actress is set to unveil the necklace and bracelet she designed at the Cannes Film Festival in May, which has particular significance for Cotillard: she was the first actress to wear items from Chopard’s eco-friendly Green Carpet Collection at the fest two years ago (pictured above). We’re certain that whatever creations the French beauty has dreamed up will be stunning.
