As a writer, executive producer, and the star of her hit Fox show, The Mindy Project, Mindy Kaling has the upper hand when it comes to creating her character Mindy Lahiri’s fashion and beauty sense. While Kaling has also sported short hair in her days on The Office, and most recently fooled us this past fall with a faux pixie on The Mindy Project’s third season, she may be taking beauty tips from a more unlikely source–her bobbed character in Pixar’s upcoming film Inside Out. Of course, Kaling’s not the first to take on the lob, or “summer bob,” as she and her hairstylist Clariss Rubenstein call it.
This season has seen the style in epidemic-like proportions, with Kaley Cuoco, Mandy Moore, Minka Kelly, and Hilary Duff acting as its most recent victims.
