What’s the most important thing you look for when shoe shopping?
Wearability mixed with versatility and timelessness. I am very decisive. I hardly ever make a senseless impulse buy. I am looking for a style that will stand the test of time but is also aesthetically interesting.
Any tricks for breaking in a new pair?
Band-Aids! And wear them a little at a time. I once bought a pair of shoes in N.Y.C. and couldn’t wait to wear them out. As we all know, there is a ton of walking done in the city. Needless to say, my feet were covered in blisters.
What style do you have the most of in your closet?
Ankle boots. They are such a solid investment because you can wear them for every season.
What was the first pair of shoes you ever splurged on?
When I was 18, I saved up and bought a pair of jeweled Manolo Blahniks for my prom. I still have them.
The pair you would never part with?
The Oscar de la Renta shoes that I was married in.
Your go-to shoe for traveling?
Something comfortable, like a sandal or flat boot.
Your go-to for a night out?
Anything Saint Laurent!
