When you’re as gorgeous and successful as Jordin Sparks, chances are you have no trouble finding a date to an event, let alone the Grammy Awards. However, that doesn’t always mean you want one. “I’m not going to take anybody [to the Grammys],” the singer told reporters Thursday night at the Delta Airlines pre-Grammy party, where she stunned on the red carpet in a black Jay Godfrey gown with mesh panels paired with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and Tacori jewelry.

“I’m doing really well. I’m in the best space that I’ve been in for years. To be able to have this freedom and I feel like I’m coming into my own and coming into my womanhood and just having fun,” she said. “Yeah it would be nice to have a date, sure, but I’m good without one.” We love that independent attitude.
