Designer: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Location: Pier 36
Notable guests: Alexa Chung, Santigold, Sophia Richie
What was it like: The space was transformed into a sprawling garden where models (including one Kendall Jenner) zoomed past, around, and in between giant columns blanketed in the faux grass.
Why we love this collection: Ever since Marc Jacobs handed over the reins to design duo Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley two seasons ago, the Marc by Marc girl has earned a rep of fierce independence laced with an unapologetic devil-may-care ‘tude.
Fall/winter 2015 has proven to be no different. They channeled the motocross aesthetic from their original BMX ninja girl into a Bohemian revolutionary leader with the very same tough edge. Studded berets, slick fanny packs (oxymoron, much?), too-cool over-the-knee buckled creepers, and revolutionary slogan panels harden romantic floral prints, sweet neckerchiefs, and soft ground-grazing silhouettes. It’s new for sure, but the Marc by Marc girl is inherently there.PHOTOS: Runway Looks We Love: Marc by Marc Jacobs
