Julianne Moore Says She’ll Live 5 Years Longer Thanks to Her Oscar Win

And the winner for Best Actress is… Julianne Moore! After sweeping every awards show this season for her role in the powerful movie Still Alice, the actress proved once and for all that her performance was one for the history books when she took home the Oscar tonight.

“Thank you so much,” Moore said as she accepted her statuette in a dazzling custom Chanel gown.

“I read an article that said that winning an Oscar could lead to living 5 years longer—If that’s true I’d really like to thank the Academy because my husband is younger than me.”

After praising her fellow nominees (Reese Witherspoon, Marion Cotillard, Rosamund Pike, and Felicity Jones) and giving a rousing round of thank you’s, Moore gave a touching mention to the film’s subject. “I’m thrilled that we were actually able to shine a light on Alzheimer’s disease,” she said. “People with Alzheimer’s deserve to be seen so we can find a cure.”
