The covetable runway ensembles from Tom Ford‘s Fall 2015 show won’t be available in stores til later this year, but the sultry smoky eye seen on each model is one look we’re eager to copy now. In what may have been a lighter take on the previous season’s dramatic smoldering effect, the gorgeous makeup Joan Smalls and the rest of Ford’s girls worked on the catwalk featured an Earth-toned palette of hues against a matte complexion, and an elegant nude lip.
A layer of the Illuminating Primer ($74; nordstrom.com) set the budge-proof base for lead makeup artist Mary Greenwell to apply the Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation ($80; nordstrom.com) over the top. Using the Shade & Illuminate palette ($77; nordstrom.com), Greenwell sculpted out a defined cheekbone with the tawny brown creme, then applied the shimmery white tone as a highlight.RELATED: Miley Cyrus Takes Tom Ford’s Fashion Advice
Veering between the Eye Color Duo in Ripe Plum ($60; nordstrom.com) and the Shadow Quad in Cocoa Mirage ($79; nordstrom.com), the latter of which was used on girls with paler skin tones, the pro blended a dramatic smoky eye, concentrating the darker tones on the outer corners. She framed the face by using Tom Ford’s Brow Sculptor ($44; nordstrom.com) to fill in the arches, and repurposed the brown lipstick in Deep Mink ($50; nordstrom.com) as an eye shadow, blending the product along the brow bones and along the lower lash line to impart a multi-dimensional sheen. Rather than continuing the color onto each model’s pout, a layer of lip balm and a small amount of leftover foundation gave off the perfect nude lip.
