What happens when you put Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Connie Britton, Kathryn Hahn, Jane Fonda, Corey Stoll, and Adam Driver in a house together for a whole straight week? A lot of funny stories, apparently!
When we caught up with the stars of the film This Is Where I Leave You in Toronto at InStyle and Forevermark’s pop-up portrait lounge, they shared some behind the scenes moments with us, and one hot scene that ended up ended up on the cutting room floor.
“I had the best time making this movie,” Britton, who plays Tracy, the spicy older girlfriend to Driver’s character, Phillip, told InStyle. “We were shooting at a house in Long Island and we had a bedroom assigned to us to all hang out in between scenes, so we would be together for 12 hours a day in this one room.”Photos: See the Best Looks from the TIFF Red Carpet
Sounds fitting for a movie that is about a family that is reunited after the death of their father, whose last wish was for his family to sit shiva for one week in their mother’s home. “There was a lot of playing Words with Friends,” says Corey Stoll, who plays eldest brother Paul in the family comedy. “Jason [Bateman] is the best at the game. And Tina [Fey] is really good. But I’m pretty good, too,” Stoll told InStyle, with a sly smile. Swap over to when the cameras started rolling and the fun did not stop.
“One of the first scenes we shot was in the classroom where the brothers get, um, inebriated. It was just so great to see the three brothers together in that dynamic.”
So what was Britton’s favorite scene to shoot? “I did a sex scene with Adam Driver, who, of course, is the king of sex scenes. He wanted to make sure I was comfortable with it, and I’m like, ‘I’m fine, thank you.
’ He is very sweet. It’s fun to talk about it now because it’s not in the movie anymore.”Photos: Go inside InStyle’s #TIFF14 portrait studio in the gallery.
