Need proof that Oscar de la Renta’s timeless designs can work on women of all ages? Look no further than Taylor Swift and Amal Alamuddin, who both recently donned the designer’s same floral number, which featured short sleeves, a cinched waist, and a bright red flower pattern accented with pops of blue and chartreuse.
Swift was the first to wear the Oscar de la Renta dress, and stepped out in it this past June in New York City. The singer gave the dress a youthful spin by teaming it with equally cheery kelly green pumps and an Elie Tahari cross-body bag in the same shade. Her bright red pout finished off the ultra-feminine look. The future Mrs. Clooney looked like the embodiment of la dolce vita when she wore the frock in Florence, Italy, earlier this month. Alamuddin paired the dress with a white Ferragamo fringed handbag, yellow ballet flats, and a pair of cat-eye sunglasses for a look that was decidedly more grown up.
The dress, though styled differently, still looks striking and completely age-appropriate on both Swift and Alamuddin. If this was a who wore it best contest, we’d call it a draw.
