Michelle Obama and President Obama joined their daughters on a nature walk through Great Falls Park in Virginia on Sunday, bringing an end to their weekend vacation with a healthy dose of physical activity.
For the outing, which was timed perfectly to kick off the U.
S. National Park Service’s National Park Week, the First Lady and Sasha, 13, and Malia, 16, kept things casual by pairing workout tights with sneakers and shielded themselves from the spring breeze by layering light jackets over their tops. The family’s impromptu hike offered a first-hand example of how FLOTUS values an active lifestyle, which is in line with her “Let’s Move” campaign. The program celebrates five years of encouraging children (as well as big-name celebrities) to get on their feet and exercise. Summer is right around the corner: It’s the perfect opportunity to take note from the First Family and get up, move, and enjoy the outdoors.
