There was an energetic mood at the Adidas NEO Label fall 2014 runway show in New York City last night, where models danced down the urban-inspired runway wearing full smiles on their fresh young faces. The event marked the first-ever Tweet-powered fashion show, where fans curated everything from the music that would play to the accessories that would make it down the catwalk.
Selena Gomez—who designs for the brand—hosted the event and also sat front row during the presentation wearing head-to-toe black Adidas NEO Label pieces that included a drawstring jumpsuit and chic wedge sneakers. “It’s so amazing! The line keeps getting better and better,” Gomez said during the show. “You guys made this yourselves, and you should be really proud of it.”The collection had no shortage of cool kicks—think gold metallic sneakers, tough combat boots, and elevated athletic shoes in all hues—while standout pieces included a preppy varsity jacket, a chic hoodie dress, and acid-wash overalls. The trendy line also featured plenty of plaid, cheeky graphic T-shirts, beanies, and denim. Before the final walk, models lined up behind chain-link fences on concrete steps plastered with the word “NEO” as faux snow fell from the ceiling and the runway went glow-in-the-dark. One thing’s certain: there was no shortage of Selena Gomez fans in the house. After the star took the stage at the end of the show to thank everyone for coming, she was promptly mobbed by her adoring fans.
