The 2015 SAG Awards are already shaping up to be a big night for the cast of Orange Is the New Black! The show has taken home honors for Outstanding Performance in a Comedy Series, and Laverne Cox and Danielle Brooks certainly recieved the award in style, complementing their elegant ensembles with creative, yet understated, nail art.
Playing off of the metallic feeling of her stunning Johanna Johnson gown, Laverne Cox and her manicurist Melissa DeLaCruz chose a trio of hues by Caption Nail Polish ($12 each; captionpolish.com). DeLaCruz layered the silver and gold glitters in Shizaaam and Trust Me, I’m Faking to impart a subtle ombre fade on top of the nude Just a Little Bit In Love shade. “There’s actually gel in the nail polish, but you don’t have to mess with LED lights,” Cox told Maria Menounos on the red carpet.

Brooks, who plays Taystee, posted the above close-up shot to her Instagram just before showing it off on the carpet, and mirrored the deep tones in her Christian Siriano number by using a handful of navy and iridescent rhinestones against a sheer nude base. Perhaps inspired by Jennifer Lopez’s peekaboo effect at the Golden Globes, her manicurist Mr. Luis placed a sole crystal on the underside of each nail. The night has only just begun, but we’re calling it—Cox and Brooks’s manicures are probably our favorites so far, and the Instagrams to come of them clutching that well-deserved award will probably beat out any #ManiMonday design we’ve ever attempted.
