Stars Rally to Support Angelina Jolie’s Campaign Against Rape in Conflict

Vivienne Westwood, Cara Delevingne, and Thandie Newton are just a few of the famous faces who have posted selfies carrying the hashtag #TimeToAct in support of Angelina Jolie’s campaign to end sexual violence as a weapon of war.

The images come as Jolie co-hosts (with British Foreign Minister William Hague) a four-day London summit, the culmination of a two-year campaign to raise awareness of the issue.

Wearing a white Michael Kors jacket and skirt, Jolie said at the conference, “We need to … make justice the norm, not the exception, for these crimes.” Other speakers at the event attended by officials, aid workers, and activists from 150 countries have included Hillary Clinton, by video, and conflict rape survivors themselves. (Jolie’s partner, Brad Pitt, has been there listening rather than speaking.)

Stella McCartney and Bonnie Wright also shared selfies (below) on Instagram, but don’t think that the #TimeToAct hashtag is exclusive to celebrities—the campaign urges everyone who supports the goal of making the perpetrators of this heinous crime accountable to do the same.

See how other stars have taken up causes close to their hearts.
