The spring/summer 2014 collections were hit with a tidal wave of ’90s nostalgia, from baseball caps to overalls. On the shoe front, mules made a major comeback, stepping from one runway to the next in re-imagined styles and flourishes.
At Celine (above, left), Phoebe Philo paired her creations with open-toed mules—a welcome (and summer-friendly!
) departure from their traditionally closed-toe counterparts. The general cut of the slides are the same, but that’s where the similarities end.
