You Can Try on Alexander McQueen’s Runway Makeup at the New “Warpaint” Exhibit

By: Alexis Bennett

Ever wondered what it’s like to wear the most whimsical makeup looks from the runway? Well, thanks to technology you can actually see how some of the most futuristic makeup will look on your face at the “Warpaint: Alexander McQueen and Makeup” exhibition in London.

Visitors will get to digitally try on select looks via a cosmetics app by creative studio Holition, called Face.

The satellite exhibit to “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” will also divide McQueen’s major catwalk looks into three categories: amplified, deviated, and stripped. Amplified will show facial features that are obscure and exaggerated. Deviated will highlight the runway shows that incorporated makeup beyond the face and explored the body, and stripped is all about letting the clothes take center stage while makeup remains minimal.

Thankfully, this exhibit will be on display from April 30 through August 7, 2015, so we’ll have all summer to make a trip to the Fashion Space Gallery at the London College of Fashion.
