H&M Celebrates 10 Years of Exciting Designer Collaborations with a Commemorative Book

Alexander Wang’s highly anticipated collection isn’t the only thing dropping at H&M next month—the brand is also set to release The First Ten Years, a hardcover book commemorating their impressive history of designer collaborations. In the decade since Karl Lagerfeld first created an affordable capsule line for the Swedish retailer, Stella McCartney, Roberto Cavalli, Lanvin, Versace, Maison Martin Margiela, Isabel Marant, and more major labels have followed in his footsteps.

The stunning book includes previously unseen images and contributions from each of H&M’s collaborating designers, and delves into the history and inspiration behind each line. “Taste, and looking chic, is no longer a question of money or how much you spend, but how you create a unique sense of style,” Lagerfeld says in the pages. “And that is the real revolution in the fashion world.”

To celebrate its release, H&M is staging a retrospective exhibition of its annual collaborations that opens on Oct. 27 at its Fifth Avenue flagship store in New York City. Look for The First Ten Years on Nov. 6 (the same day Alexander Wang x H&M goes on sale!) when it hits H&M stores worldwide.
