When you’re nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Academy Awards, you better believe you put a lot of thought into your outfit. American Sniper‘s Bradley Cooper already is—well, kind of; his stylist Ilaria Urbanati is doing the thinking for him. And it’s going to be timeless. “Bradley really likes to go old-fashioned, like Carey Grant,” she told InStyle at the launch party for her Eddie Bauer men’s capsule collection at the Sundance Film Festival. “I think it’s important to be able to look back at photos from awards shows in fifty years and see something that still looks good after all that time.
”That being said, the search for the perfect tux has already begun. Urbanati said “almost every label” has offered to create a custom look for Cooper. But she’s not doing custom—they don’t want to commit to one thing. “I always bring a lot of options for Bradley, but he always goes very classic for the Oscars,” she said. “He might do a midnight or a black, but I don’t see any color happening. But it’s really going to be a case of ‘may the best tux win.’” Game on, menswear designers! We’ll definitely be keeping our eyes peeled.
