There was a myriad of vibrant looks on the MTV Movie Awards blue carpet last night—but it was Anna Camp’s technicolor ensemble that had us mesmerized. The actress took spring dressing to new heights in a candy-colored Peter Pilotto dress and matching ice-blue Stuart Weitzman sandals.
“The dress came to me in a bag, and I didn’t try on anything else.
It fit, no alterations. It was meant to be. The first thing I thought when I took it out was that I’d never seen anything like it—and give it to me now. I want to put it on,” Camp tells InStyle. “It’s very light to the point where I feel like I’m not wearing anything. I have to keep looking down and checking to make sure that it’s, like, on. I feel very free. I think I could probably do a stand, walk, run, sit, eat, and drink champagne in this dress if I really needed to.”PHOTOS: See All the Red Carpet Looks from the 2015 MTV Movie Awards
But why choose something so unique? The star says it stemmed from a desire to switch things up. “I gravitate towards things that are a little different. I’m from the South and I used to wear a lot of classic things growing up, but as I’ve come to L.A. and started going to events, I want to do things that are different and cool and fun,” the actress says. “I want to have fun with fashion, and I think that that’s something that I’m doing tonight. Hopefully I’m successful at it.”
Aside from Camp’s vibrant outfit, no one could stop talking about her upcoming film Pitch Perfect 2: “I can feel the building excitement from all the fans,” she says. “If I can make people happy in this business, I feel like I’m doing my job. And if I can make people laugh, then, it’s great. It’s a great feeling to be a part of something so positive and funny.”
