Last night at the People’s Choice Awards, Chloë Grace Moretz gave off serious Brigitte Bardot vibes with her soft smoky eye, which she paired with a voluminous blowout and graphic center part.
“After seeing Chloë’s Louis Vuitton dress with the leather, black, and maroon a-line skirt, I knew I wanted to keep a ’60s vibe with straight texture, and undone volume through the crown,” says her hairstylist Gregory Russell.
To start, the pro concentrated the KMS AddVolume spray ($18; ulta.com) around the root area to create lift, then prepped her ends with the TameFrizz Smoothing Lotion ($18; ulta.com), adding a shield against the heat tools. Russell then picked up a boar-bristle round brush to dry the star’s hair, and set the top portion into two large pin curls to impart that Bardot-esque body. The front section was divided down the middle into a center part, and clipped both sides down for ten minutes so the area remained smooth.
Once the pin curls had cooled completely, Russell combed through Moretz’s hair, misted on the Hairplay Playable Texture ($20; ulta.com) throughout the ends and back to create movement, then backcombed the crown area to pump up the volume. As a finishing touch, a veil of the KMS Hairstay Maximum Hold Spray ($18; ulta.com) locked in the style all night.

Makeup artist Mai Quynh also drew inspiration from Moretz’s Louis Vuitton number to complete the look, opting for a soft, smoldering eye and nude lip. “We wanted to keep her look subtly glamorous, truly embodying her fresh, young vibe.” Mission accomplished!
Quynh used the star’s complexion as a starting point and kept the finish light with Chanel’s Natural Finish Pressed Powder ($45; chanel.

With a handful of taupe and grey hues by Lancome ($20 each; nordstrom.com), she began layering colors from the lash line to the crease from darkest to lightest. A sweep of liner and a few coats of Eyeko Black Magic Mascara ($24; sephora.com) topped off the eye before moving on to the lips.“We finished with a beautifully neutral, gorgeous lip,” says Quynh, who used the Burt’s Bees Lip Crayon in Sedona Sands ($9; burtsbees.com). “The 100 percent natural crayon is super-moisturizing, and the creamy matte finish will last throughout the evening.”
