Hilary Swank surprised us when she stepped out in a shocking-pink Christian Siriano dress at the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge launch in New York last week. Unlike her playful attire, the vibrant star kept her makeup simple, favoring a natural palette for an inspiring reason.
“As you can see I don’t really wear a lot of makeup,” she told InStyle. “Tonight I have some mascara on and some lipstick and a little blush but I’m not big makeup wearer in general. I think its super important in this day and age, when women are so trivialized and objectified, to really show the real when we can.”In addition to a minimal-makeup philosophy, Swank relishes any opportunity to visit N.Y.C. facialist Christine Chin. “I will come [to New York] just to see her. No one takes care of my skin like her. I use her soaps and her products.” Back home, the actress favors washing her face with the help of Clarisonic (starting at $99; clarisonic.com) and no matter what, “I use Peter Thomas Roth sunscreen ($42; sephora.com), sunscreen even when it’s raining.”
