We thought we couldn’t love French fashion house Céline any more than we already did, until we saw the label’s spring ad campaign starring literary icon Joan Didion. Photographed by Juergen Teller, the 80-year-old Didion looks incredibly chic and utterly thoughtful in the image, where she’s dressed in a ribbed knit sweater, oversized black sunnies, and a golden pendant necklace by the brand.

The intellectual author, most famous for her 1968 essay collection Slouching Towards Bethlehem and her 2005 memoir The Year of Magical Thinking, looks cool and totally dreamy as Céline’s new muse—her sleek bob and pursed lips are the cherry on top of the cake. We don’t know about you, but we think this unexpected campaign is one for the books.
