The luxe sport trend has become engrained in today’s fashion culture. One of the most prominent fabrics is the “puffer parade” that came down the fall runways. Designers such as Chanel (above, left), Miu Miu (above, center), and Opening Ceremony (above, right) expanded into new categories showing quilted separates, outerwear, and accessories in a variety of surprising colors.
You can elevate these pieces by pairing them with non-sporty items like luxe knits, leather and wool. When buying the quilted piece itself, look for well tailored outerwear and unexpected shapes like pencil skirts, fitted jumpers, and modern boots.
